Today’s Healing Word – Walk

The end of winter is near.  After a season of going inside, it is time to begin to awaken your spirit to new possibilities. It is time to walk.

During the season of cold, we tend to bundle up or stay indoors.  It is a time of rest and dreaming in the old way.  The days are cloudy and dark, the perfect time for quiet reflection on our lives and what we want to dream into being during the next cycle.

As spring approaches, it is time to shed our layers and open ourselves to the new light.  We cast off our heavy clothes, and with them, we cast off our heavy burdens.  We stand a bit taller and feel the freedom of leaving behind what is no longer needed.

Now is a great time to begin your new walk.  Literally, you can go out into nature and walk, listening to the messages of the returning birds, seeing small buds and new shoots emerging.  Feel inside for what is wanting to be awakened in you.  What are you wanting to bring forth in this new time?  What dream are you wanting to manifest?

Are you ready to walk with freedom and creativity?

Today’s Healing Word – Blueprint

Accomplishing your goal of peace is easier with a blueprint.

Any good project can benefit from some strategic planning.  Having a blueprint for your peaceful life helps you navigate the twists and turns and keep you on course.

Sitting on a mountaintop wishing and dreaming may feel peaceful in the moment, but how will you bring that peace out into a world of challenge? What resources do you need to put your heart-felt action into place?

Does your peaceful blueprint include being a resource for others in their quest for peace?  The best way to create the peace you yearn for is to be a role model for others.  Your peaceful thoughts, words and deeds can become a blueprint for those whose lives you touch.

What peaceful action will you take today?

Today’s Healing Word – Middle

The middle is the space between the edges of your boundaries.

You can live your life pushing against the edges of your boundaries, or you can live a life of safety by staying in the middle.  Staying in the middle may feel safe at first, however if you never challenge your boundaries, your middle will become smaller and smaller.   Eventually, you may become trapped in a tight structure of mediocrity and fear.

By challenging your boundaries, you begin to break down their control.  You become free to walk in any place, time or energy you wish to experience.  Your middle becomes vibrant and free.

Balanced structures are needed for this human life.  When you build unbalanced structures around you, you risk identifying with your limitations and creating unhealthy boundaries.  Pushing against boundaries creates a middle that is balanced and whole.

How big is your middle?  Have you built balanced structures to support you or walls to keep you safe?

Today’s Healing Word – Boundary

When we feel the need to protect our territories, we establish boundaries around them and around ourselves.

How solid are the boundaries you have built around your territories?  Are your physical boundaries made of steel, wood, paper or some other material?  What substance are your emotional boundaries made of?

Boundaries can delineate a path, protect a precious commodity, or separate us from life.  Setting realistic and healthy boundaries is necessary to maintain our vitality.  When we use those same boundaries to exclude ourselves or others, we can suck the vitality out of our lives.

Boundaries built out of fear can become so strong that they begin to feed our fears and divide us from the experience of community which can help us break down our fears.

Which of your boundaries are built of fear?  Who will you let inside your boundaries today?

Today’s Healing Word – Territory

Your experience is woven among the territories you live in and interact with.

Make a list of the territories of your life such as your home, work, family, friends, hobbies, etc.  What territories have you created in your life and how does your ego present itself in each of your territories?

Do you put on a different face at work than you do at home?  Are you a different person in your car than you are at the gym?  Where is your most authentic self allowed to shine?  In which territories is your spirit being diminished?

When we allow the territories of our lives to restrict our boundless potential, we limit the gifts we can bring to the world.  Opening to the true light within you in all territories of your life will bring more light into the territories of others.

Which territories do you enjoy being in?  Which territories are life-affirming?  What changes can you make to bring more beauty to those territories which are not life-affirming?

Today’s Healing Word – Family

You are a member of the family of earth.

No one knows you better than your family.  No one cares more for you than your sisters and brothers.  No one wants to nurture you more than your Mother.

You are a member of the family of earth.  You came from your Mother Earth and will return to her when your lifewalk is over.  All of the earth’s children are your brothers and sisters.  No one can nurture you and provide for you like your Mother Earth.

Everyone wants to feel connected.  When you realize your connection to all of life, you have the ability to see everyone as a part of your family.  You choose to stand beside your brother in his time of need.  You choose to see the beauty that is your sister because you see yourself in her reflection.

How did your Mother Earth nurture you today?  As a member of the family of earth, how will you give back to your Mother?

Today’s Healing Word – Decisiveness

Accessing the wisdom of your heart will help keep you moving forward toward your goals.

You have a great idea and have used your inner discipline to build the proper structures to implement the idea.  The timing is right to gather your resources and form a strategy to move into right action.

Your heart knows what is needed to move forward.  Listening to your heart and accessing the courage needed to follow your heart knowing is an important part of your strategy.

Decisive action begins with decisive thoughts.  “Maybe I can do this” or “I can try to do this” are indecisive thoughts that leave the door open to unsuccessful outcomes.  “I know in my heart that I can do this” is a message to the universe of your disciplined intent.  The universe will respond with the resources needed.

What thoughts are sabotaging your path to right action?  How can you change your thoughts to reflect your courage and heart-centered trust in life?

Today’s Healing Word – Traction

In order to make progress in life, you need traction under your wheels.

I love watching a Mud Run, where trucks run through a bog of mud in an attempt to get the fastest time.  Some drivers seem to slide through the bog, weaving in all directions.  They have little control over their truck as the mud takes over, causing them to run into the banks or even flip over.  I saw one driver who generated so much speed that he was unable to stop at the end of the track and ran his truck into the woods. The drivers who win are the ones who can generate impulsion through the mud and maintain traction to steer their truck in the right direction.

Where do you find the traction to steer through the mud of life?  You can close your eyes and allow challenge to take you for a ride, slipping and sliding in all directions, or you can remain present and use your heart-centered yearning to keep you on your sacred path in life. Your ability to maintain awareness and use your inner strength gives you the traction required to stay on course.

Life doesn’t have to be a mud run.  You aren’t being scored on how fast you can run through your life.  Unlike the mud run, slow and steady can mean success.  When speed is needed, being able to access your inner wisdom and use your resources well will allow you to achieve your goals.

Are you slipping and sliding through life?  What is needed to bring back your traction and keep you on your path?

Today’s Healing Word – Authority

The power of authority to command or direct can be healing when it is used within the self.

There are many who we have given the position of authority to such as lawmakers, armies, police, even authors.  Someone who rights a book on a subject is often considered the authority on the subject.

With so many authorities in our society, who is in charge of you?  Who is the one writing your story?  You are creating the story of your life with every thought, word and deed.  When you create your life with heart-centered attention, trusting in your own wisdom and knowledge, you are in self-authorship. Holding self-authority for your life allows you to live the life you yearn for.

With authority comes responsibility.  When you hold self-authority, you also see how you are responsible for what happens in your life.  You are no longer a victim, nor can you continue to blame others for the events in your life.  Claiming self-authority requires attention to cause and effect.  Your thoughts, words and deeds are at cause and effecting your life in each moment.  You have the power to heal your life when you find your self-authority.

Who is in charge of your life?  How will you use your thoughts, words and deeds to heal your life today?

Today’s Healing Word – Grounded

You have been inspired by a new and brilliant idea.  What is beneath your feet?

In my dream last night I was shown an image of the beautiful blue earth.  On this earth was a woman whose feet were grounded with roots into the Mother Earth.  The woman’s body extended from the earth into the universe.  Her back was arched and her arms reached out wide with stars glittering at her fingertips.  Her face was lifted with joy towards the boundless potential of space.

This beautiful image speaks to me of the joy of inspiration and the need to keep yourself grounded while you manifest your dreams.  I have met many people who have wonderful ideas and cannot seem to ground themselves enough to make any of their dreams come to fruition.

When you become inspired, when you breathe in, bring your breath down and into your roots to nourish them.  They provide your connection to the powerful structure of the Mother Earth.  Spirit without structure cannot manifest the desires of your human journey.  Connect with the Mother Earth and ask, “what structure is needed to help me fulfill my dream?”  Open your quiet heart and listen.

What do your grounded roots look like?  How far do they reach into the Mother Earth? What will you do today to nourish your connection to her?
