Today’s Healing Word – Water

When your emotions are able to move like water, and you allow yourself to feel, experience and release your emotional power, you can find peace within the self.

I have heard artists say the hardest thing to paint is water.  Water is not a static thing.  It is filled with dynamic movement.  It flows, shifts, changes, sparkles, cascades, drips and reflects.  Trying to capture the spirit of water on a two dimensional surface can be a challenging task.

Your emotions are like water.  They are meant to flow, shift, change, sparkle, cascade, drip and reflect.  And like water, when they are restricted, they become a powerful force. And like water, trying to capture the spirit of emotions in words can be a challenging task. One list I saw had over 4,000 words to describe emotions.

How are your emotions flowing today?

Today’s Healing Word – Transformational

Transformational love holds the integrity of protecting the integrity of all life.

Using transformational love, you hold the power to change life-diminishing thoughts and actions to life-affirming thoughts and actions.  What you give attention to, you create.  When your thoughts and words are life-diminishing, your actions will follow. Transformational love sees the power of your thoughts and words and guides you to intentionally shifting your patterns.

This is the energy of movement and magic.  You have the ability to transform your energy to be life-affirming in a tenth of a second.  When you cultivate awareness and emotional flexibility, you can use your integrity to offer transformational love to others.

When your thoughts and words are life-affirming, you bring energy and enthusiasm to your world.  This enthusiasm for life has the ability to spill over and touch those around you, with transformational love.

Who will you transform today?

Today’s Healing Word – Transformation

Great art has the power to transform the viewer, the artist, and the world.

You are feeling stressed or sad.  You see an image of a beautiful meadow of flowers next to a gently flowing stream and you feel better.  You hear the soulful song of a lover scorned and feel her pain in your heart.  The artist has used the power of expression to transform your energy.

Paint becomes picture, tone becomes song, and movement becomes story.  This is the magic of art.  It can cause lovers to unite and nations to fall.  It can bring smiles, laughter, joy and sorrow.  While one person feels joy in the meadow of flowers, another may feel grief from the memory it brings.

Art can transform a discarded piece of wood into a sacred object, or the side of an abandoned building into inspiration. Art expresses discontent and reminds of of beauty in our darkest moments.

How have you been transformed by art?

Today’s Healing Word – Connected

The artist is connected to the subject, the process and the audience.

Through the process of creating art, the artist becomes deeply connected to the subject.  The artist can see the layers behind a single color, tone, or movement.  By expressing these layers, the subject comes to life.

Through the cycles of the creative process, from beginning to end, the artist connects deeply with the cycles of life.  Each movement is connected to the next, each note flows through the next.  Art can connect two people, or two nations. As an audience, art can connect us to the cycles of our lives and help us understand the cycles of the other.

A connection is built between the artist and the audience where each is intimately involved with the other, though they may never be physically together.

Who have you connected with through the medium of art?

Today’s Healing Word – Magic

Stay open to the transformational magic your gifts can bring.

A lonely man sits shivering on the curb.  He feels a touch and turns to see a stranger offering a gift of an old blanket and a smile.  The lonely man feels the softness of the blanket and the warmth of the smile.

One act of kindness, given with a smile, can transform someone’s life.  This is the gift of magic.

Seeing the gift you are in each moment, appreciating the diversity of others, sharing the gifts of your ancestors, nurturing yourself, being a conscious dreamer and moving from your heart is the magic that will transform the world.

What gift can you give that will transform your world?

Today’s Healing Word – Stand

Which boundary would you defend with your life?

When your boundaries allow for flexibility and movement, you are able to transform rigid structures that can harm life.  Our world is not static and our boundaries must allow for transformation of old beliefs and structures.

And, there are times when a boundary needs to be defended.   Sometimes taking a stand is needed to defend the integrity of all life.   What would our boundaries look like if no law could be passed that would harm the children?

Which of your boundaries are flexible and which are needed to defend life?  What do you stand for?

Today’s Healing Word – Vitality

Your body’s vitality comes from balancing your energies.

Your physical form is created in beauty.  Finding tranquility in the stillness of your body reveals the passion within.  Your interconnected body sings a song of abundance and vitality.

This vitality is your spirit light animating your physical form. Staying balanced with these energies allows you to guard the vitality of your movement.  Your body is the temple where your spirit resides in this life.  It is up to you to keep this temple clean and bright so your spirit can accomplish your sacred dream of life.

Love your body.  Move your body.  Dance, sing, and create magic within the marriage of spirit and form.

Are you moving with vitality?  What will you do today to transform the vitality of your body and allow your spirit light to shine through?

Today’s Healing Word – Perception

Inner wisdom and discipline is available in the present moment through the perception of the senses.

Being fully awake in the present moment brings access to all wisdom.  When you are worrying about the future or carrying baggage from the past, your load may feel too heavy to find your personal discipline.  Bringing yourself to stillness and awakening your senses can help release what is not needed and make room for joy in your life.

Spend time each day in the stillness, even among the chaos of the outside world.  Life can be racing all around you, and you can still find the inner resolve to appreciate your breath, the beauty of a sunrise, or the smell of fresh baked bread.

Staying present in the moment can be a discipline within itself.  And it can also open your life to the possiblities you can create with inner discipline.

What brings you to stillness?  What do you appreciate today?  How many of your sense are open and alive right now?

Today’s Healing Word – Tide

The waters ebb and flow with the tide, giving and taking, restoring and releasing.

I have always lived by some form of water, whether it was a small creek, a large river, or one of the Great Lakes.  When you live by water, you learn to understand the flowing nature of this earth element.  Waters rise and fall, change course, erode and build up their banks.  Waters are ever changing.

I had a friend who lived near a backwater of the Mississippi River.  His home was on a hillside, with a patch of level ground before dropping to the water’s edge.  The great Mississippi is famous for its flooding abilities, however this man had a great optimism about the water’s changing nature.

“When the river floods, I have waterfront property,” he said. “And when the river is low, I have an extra acre or two to play with.”

His optimism displayed his ability to ebb and flow with the waters.  It is a good metaphor for allowing your emotions to ebb and flow.  When flowing water is trapped, it will erode its banks in search of freedom.  When you allow your emotions to become trapped, they also will search for an outlet, or erode away at your structure.

How are your waters flowing?  Do your emotions overflow or has the riverbed within you run dry?  How will you celebrate the tides of your life today?

Today’s Healing Word – Strength

Flexibility and balance help us move in beautiful ways.  When we add strength to that movement, we are able to move into right action for success.

You don’t need to be a body builder to have strength in your movement.  Any form of exercise with an amount of resistance can help build strong bones and muscles.  When you have strength in your body, you are ready to use your resources to achieve your goals.  Without this strength, your movements will not be as effective as you desire.

Resistance is also helpful to build strength in your emotional movement.  When you feel resistance, either from within yourself, or from outside of yourself, looking deeply into this resistance and finding the courage needed to move forward helps build strength to face challenge.

Finding the courage to move into right action with strength requires open access to your heart knowing.  When you feel the deep yearning within your heart and realize the abundant resources available to you, moving forward with flexibility, balance and strength brings integrity to your path.

Where do you feel resistance?  Could your courage use a visit to the virtual gym? How can you use your emotional strength to replace the need for physical force?
