Today’s Healing Word – Ignite

Like moths, we are drawn to fire.

Ignite a campfire and people will come.  We are drawn to flame for the warmth it provides, and also for the beauty.   The colors of the rainbow can be found in a campfire.

We depend on fire to cook our food and heat our homes.  Nature depends on fire to renew the landscape and allow new seeds to open.  Fire has a way of cleansing and opening possibilities.

We also depend on the fire of our spirit which keeps us alive.  The fire inside of us keeps our bodies warm and our spirit bright.  When you allow your ignited spirit to shine, people are drawn to you.

Like any fire, there is a balance to be found between burning brightly and burning out.  When you feel your fire burning out, ignite it again with creativity and magic. Connecting with other people’s spirit fire will help keep your own ignited.

How will you ignite your spirit fire today?

Today’s Healing Word – Wheel

All points on the circle face the center.

The image of the circle, or wheel, has been used for all time as a symbol of wholeness.  No point on a circle is more important than any other point.  No point on a circle can survive without the rest of the points.

The image of the circle is as old as the earth.  The earth was at one time thought to be flat when the humans could not imagine a world past their line of sight.  When we realize life is based on the circle, we can see how we are all connected.  We are all important and vital to the health of our circle, the earth.

Standing in the circle of your life, you face the center of your wheel.  This center is your radiant spirit connected to the source of all spirit.

How radiant is the center of your wheel?

Today’s Healing Word – Resource

All things are art; all things can become art.

The artist has abundant resources in the natural world for creative expression. A simple basket of pine cones can become a beautiful wreath.  Fall colors provide a palatte of inspiration.  Flowing water can be the basis of a new melody with the earth’s heartbeat as the percussion.

By seeing and listening to the natural world, the artist begins to connect with their own natural rhythms.  Accessing this natural rhythm brings the artist closer to the wisdom of their heart.  The wisdom of the heart can help create sacred meaning within the artistic expression.

There is no color created that is not already available in nature.  There is no shape drawn that does not resemble a natural object or phenomenon.

What part of nature inspires you to create?

Today’s Healing Word – Healing

Art is healing; healing is art.

The most powerful art is created when the artist releases pain, sadness or injury into the canvas.  Finding expression for these emotions allows the artist to revisit them and find what needs to be released.

Experiencing a work of art created through such a release can often lead the audience to discovering the emotion trapped within the self.  We allow the artist’s release to spur ourselves to healing old wounds.

The process of healing is an art within itself.  Looking at the self and finding the wounds within is the first step to healing.  Once discovered, we can find our own release and move forward with more joy and success in life.

The artist is the embodiment of the creative spirit and uses the artistic medium to hold the infinite healing energy of expression.

What within you is looking for healing?  How can you express this emotion through creative art?

Today’s Healing Word – Alone

Even in the darkest hour, remember, you are never alone.

Life is coming at you from all sides and you feel so alone in this enormous universe.  When you feel alone, look inside to see where you are separating yourself from others.  The root to alone is all-one. We are all one.  You are me.  I am you.  We are all a piece of the Great Spirit.  We are connected even when we are physically or emotionally by ourselves.

You are only alone when you separate yourself.  With 7.06 billion humans on this single planet, there is always someone to reach out to.

When you see everyone as part of you and yourself as part of everyone, you begin to realize the connectedness we all share.  When we see others as different, or less than ourselves, even better than ourselves, we begin to separate from our common spirit.

You are never alone when you see the humanity in all and reach out to embrace others.

Who will you touch today?

Today’s Healing Word – Law

No law shall be passed that will harm the children.

In this last post about sustainability, we look at the laws we create in the name of sustainability.  The most important thing we can sustain is life itself.  In order to sustain this experience of life as human, we must hold integrity around the laws we create.

What would our world look like if no law could be passed that would harm the children? Is integrity served when a law benefits one person over another? Do our laws sustain the spirit fire within each of us?  Or do they diminish our spirit in favor of a small minority?

Think of the laws you create for yourself.  Are you sustaining your own spirit?  Or are you building walls to protect you from fear?  How many of earth’s children are you harming with your personal laws?

We are all children of this earth.  When we establish laws that harm one of us, we harm all of us.

Today’s Healing Word – Equilibrium

Sustainability is reached when there is equilibrium between the spirit of creativity and the maintenance of structure.

Finding sustainable solutions requires creativity.  Creativity cannot be stifled in the name of sustainability.  In a world where change is the order of the day, being able to come up with creative solutions is the key behind finding balance between sustainability and decay.

Creativity requires an equal amount of structure to contain the ideas and energies being created and manifest them into reality.  Finding the equilibrium between the structures and the creative spirit is the balance point.

What creative ideas are needed to ensure the sustainability of our mother earth?  How will your gifts help this delicate balance?

Today’s Healing Word – Alert

Can you be alert enough to sustain the present moment?

Discussions of sustainability usually center around the past or the future. People hold concerns over keeping the past as an ideal of what the future should be. These concerns take us out of the present moment and throw a veil over our alertness.

The present moment is the only thing that is truly sustainable because it will always be here. The past is gone, the future is non-existent.  The present is the only reality we have.

Being alert to where you are, what you are sensing, and appreciating what is here for you now is the key to seeing what is needed for sustainability.

What are you alert to in this moment?  What part of this moment is sustainable for you?

Today’s Healing Word – Blueprint

Accomplishing your goal of peace is easier with a blueprint.

Any good project can benefit from some strategic planning.  Having a blueprint for your peaceful life helps you navigate the twists and turns and keep you on course.

Sitting on a mountaintop wishing and dreaming may feel peaceful in the moment, but how will you bring that peace out into a world of challenge? What resources do you need to put your heart-felt action into place?

Does your peaceful blueprint include being a resource for others in their quest for peace?  The best way to create the peace you yearn for is to be a role model for others.  Your peaceful thoughts, words and deeds can become a blueprint for those whose lives you touch.

What peaceful action will you take today?
